so i went to the ben kweller concert on wednesday.
it was good, nothing really special. pretty much it felt like i was just watching him perform his CDs, instead of it really being a show, you know?
anyway adam green was there! with isabelle mcnally. (are they dating??)
it was funny because the last time i was at that venue, it was for the adam green concert. now that was a great concert. everyone who was in the back or on the 2nd floor came down and started dancing in the aisles (i was lucky enough to have nabbed 3rd row seats, but i got up and dancing in front of my seat). oh, and at that concert my friend and i saw agyness deyn, albert hammond jr. (before they were dating), and waris ahluwalia (house of waris; darjeeling limited). and then after the show we saw albert outside and i went up to him and was freaking out so he was like what's up and i was like nothing, just freaking out a little bit (!!!!!), and he was like oh, it's okay. and then he HUGGED ME. and then i totally and completely melted right into the pavement in a puddle of that silver goo stuff just like alex mack.
look how cute he was!!

mad ones
one day
i will be one of the cool kids.

[confession time]
i may know i'm cool but
it's the recognition that counts.
i know it's sad/lame, but i can't help it.
but doesn't everyone want to be one of the cool kids?
you know,
the ones you see on the subway or
in a bar
or at a party
or just on the street
and you think
i just
want to be friends with them.
i mean i love my friends and all but
80% of them could not be called cool
not in the least bit.
i wonder when i'll be friends with the cool kids.
i hope it's soon.
it's all i've really ever wanted.
i will be one of the cool kids.

so i am taking off my wristwatch

DAMN.
dawes.
DAWES. Dawes. DAWESDAWESDAWESDAWESDAWESDAWESDAWESDAWESDAWESDAWES.
So I went to the Delta Spirit concert last night at Bowery Ballroom.
Dawes was the first opening act.
They totally and completely rule my world right now. They blew me away.

Oh, and we witnessed Wiley basically walk into this woman who was holding a cup of something-or-other, and he bumped into my friend while this happened. Amusing.
Then we went upstairs for like the fourth time and decided to stay because there were finally some more people up there.
And guess who we stood next to? Seriously, you'll never guess.
Brady. AKA the UO model. Beautiful.
Oh and then the bassist from Delta Spirit came upstairs and stood next to Brady.

Okay also, how old is the dummer, Griffin Goldsmith (Taylor G's bro)? Like 16? Okay I just looked it up (he has a facebook! and we have 1 mutual friend!) and he is 19. Hmm. He is super super cute also. They are all cute. Wow.
By the time Delta Spirit came on (after Other Lives...not my thing...too whiney/pretentious midwestern indie for me) there were all of this sweaty, drunk, dancey bridge&tunnel-ers rubbing up against us. We endured until the end of People, Turn Around, and then we BOOKED IT the fuck outta there. I did not enjoy that chick jumping onto my back and putting her arms around my while screaming the lyrics in my ear. Seriously, people. We didn't even care to stay for the encore. We just got our coats and people-watched until Dawes came down and then we watched them. Creepy? Yeah, whatever.
All in all, good night.
Dawes fucking rules.
Seriously.
Listen to them.
Now.

like loons on loon tablets

I was in 5th grade.
I think this must be in my top 5 favorite books of all time.
Right up there with On the Road.
Seriously.

Seriously.

Just watched the movie online last night. Did it come out in the US?
I saw the soundtrack in zaavi when I was in the UK, but I don't remember hearing anything about it before or after that.

Ellen, Gee, Rosie, and Jas.
--If Jas looks familiar it's because she played the young Sophie (Jessica Biel) in The Illusionist.

Yeah, right, these guys are totally 16.
In the movie they are twins.
And seriously SexGodlike.

In the movie Peter is referred to as being from "saliva-ville."
Teehee :)

Interesting as the beginning of the transition from junior high to high school, hence the "New Georgia."

And look at those arms! Damn, boy.
Also, how cuh-yute does Gee look here?

These are all the books I got up to before I got too old/they got boring.
Perhaps I should hang out in B&N for a while and catch up on the burgeoning relationship between Georgia and Dave the Laugh...Now that Robbie's in Kiwi-a-go-go land and Georgia moved on to Masimo the Italian Stallion, she's been getting Horn Lessons from Dave the Laugh...but obvi they have something more than a friendship. HHHMMMMM...

ALSO:
Jools, Mabs (Ace Gang members), Nauseating P. Green, Mark Big Gob, and Sven were all cut from the movie. Sven does get one mention at the beginning, but other than that, nada. Upsetting, since Sven is one of the best parts of the book. I guess they couldn't put EVERYTHING in the movie, though.
AND
Robbie's band the Stiff Dylans is a total guilty pleasure yummy pop rock boy band YAY
